Lieutenant Henry Maurice Corbold ’15

Lieut. H. Maurice Corbold died on Aug. 28th, 1916, at Roisel, Northern France, and was buried in the cemetery there at the age of 19.

Lieut. Corbold was the son of Mr. C. E. Corbold, manager of the Canada National Fire Insurance Co., and was at UCC from 1910-1915, leaving to join the Flying Corps. He sailed for England in December, 191 5, and went to France in the following July.

In the evening of Aug. 27th, eleven aviators, including Lieut. Corbold, started on a bombing expedition over the German lines. A terrific storm came on, and when they returned five of the number were missing, amongst whom was Lieut. Corbold.
