Captain Herve Murray Grant was at U.C.C. 1905-1907; he was well known in the athletic circles around Winnipeg, where he was born; he stroked the winning crew in the last regatta held by the Winnipeg Rowing Club and was also a rugby and hockey enthusiast. He left Canada with the 144th Batt., L.B.D’s., under Col. Morley; he received the M.C. for capturing a machine gun during a trench raid last August.
